Summary
MgO aids livestock, enhances growth, remediates soil, and controls pests.

The main agricultural applications of magnesium oxide granules
Animal Feed Additives
Magnesium Supplementation for Ruminants: Hypomagnesemia (grass cramps) is common in dairy cows and beef cattle during calving or high-yielding periods. Adding 0.5%–3% magnesium oxide granules to their feed can effectively prevent this and promote calcium absorption.
Promoting Growth and Health: Adding magnesium oxide to pig, poultry, and aquatic feed can improve growth rate, meat quality, and reduce disease incidence.
Environmental Remediation and Disease Control:
Heavy Metal Polluted Soil Remediation: Nano-magnesium oxide has a high selective adsorption capacity for heavy metals such as lead (Pb²⁺) and cadmium (Cd²⁺), significantly reducing their effectiveness. This remediation method is low-cost and eco-friendly.
As a Pesticide or Fungicide Component: Magnesium oxide can be used to prepare slow-release insecticides and fungicides, inhibiting pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and reducing pesticide runoff.
Algae Control: Spraying it into water bodies can control excessive algae growth and maintain the balance of the aquatic ecosystem.
